The Replacement Baffle/Throat Plate suitable for the Franco Belge Belfort is a steel plate designed to sit above the fire bricks and helps to slow the flames within the firebox to help with combustion and to ensure the heat stays within the firebox longer.
Check your baffle regularly to ensure it is not damaged.  Using a damaged baffle can cause serious damage to your stove.

Installation Instructions:

Installing the Franco Belge Belfort Baffle is extremely easy and can be completed in around 5-10 minutes.
 
Lift the baffle with one hand to the roof of the stove.
Remove a side brick one at a time and then remove the rear fire brick.
Remove baffle by bringing the stove towards the door opening and remove at an angle.
Replace baffle and lift to top of stove and repeat the above steps in reverse.
